The president of the Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (ARCTEL-CPLP) and of the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency of the Economy of Cape Verde (ARME), Leonilde Tatiana Lima Monteiro dos Santos, came to Manaus to participate in Amazon On, an event that discussed issues related to connectivity and sustainability in the largest tropical forest in the world.

"We are here to learn, above all, it is an excellent opportunity for us, to learn, because Brazil is currently experiencing the worst crisis in terms of drought, Cape Verde is also a country that has suffered from insularity, it is a country of islands and we are here to learn, but also to take what we have learned here to other countries and in this way contribute to a world that is effectively better, happier, more sustainable and more environmentally friendly", said Leonilde dos Santos, president of ARME.

Leonilde commented on clean energy in Cape Verde.

"In Cape Verde, we are a country that has a strong fossil fuel matrix and we have a government program and an ambition to make the country one hundred percent clean energy by 2040. And we debate the issues related to electronic communications, but electronic communications without energy do not work. So, why not work on electronic communications with clean energy?" concluded the president of the Board of Directors of ARME.
