A sinkhole opened up and a garbage truck was 'swallowed' on Avenida Coronel Teixeira, in the Ponta Negra neighborhood, in the West Zone of Manaus.
The accident, which left no one injured, occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (11).
According to the concessionaire Águas de Manaus, the leak in a large pipeline damaged the structure of the avenue.
Also according to the concessionaire, the pipelines will be replaced and the refilling will be normalized in the early hours of Thursday (12).
The City Hall sent teams to remove the truck from the site.
Agents from the Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU) were called to control the traffic that was severely compromised in the region.
The agency also reported that traffic will be diverted to minimize impacts to drivers.
