RONDÔNIA, BRAZIL - A group of capybaras was spotted crossing a busy avenue in Ji-Paraná, Rondônia. The adorable and curious scene was captured on video by local residents and drew attention as drivers were seen stopping to allow the animals to cross safely.
The video, recorded by a resident, shows him directing traffic to ensure the capybaras made it across without incident. According to neighbors, the capybaras crossing has become a part of daily life in the area. Each morning, the animals head to the other side of the road to graze and return in the evening to rest near a green area.
“Everyone stops and waits for them to cross. It’s a time of heavy traffic, when people are coming home from work,” said one local resident.
