MANAUS, BRASIL - The season of traditional June and regional dances has begun with the 68th Amazonas Folklore Festival. Performances started on the evening of June 5 at the Center for Amazonian Peoples' Culture (CCPA) in southern Manaus.

The festival brings together dozens of folklore groups and runs through June 20, celebrating cultural diversity and popular traditions. The opening night filled the CCPA with music, dance and tradition, reinforcing its place on the city's official cultural calendar.

Visitors can watch dance performances, quadrille groups, cirandas, national folk dances and boi-bumbá shows. A food court has also been set up for attendees to enjoy traditional seasonal dishes.

The 68th Amazonas Folklore Festival will continue with free nightly programming at the Center for Amazonian Peoples' Culture.
