PARINTINS, BRAZIL - Boi-Bumbá Caprichoso presented "The Ancestral Toy Sings: Amazon – The Ground of Life" on Saturday night (June 27), the second act of its artistic project, "The Toy That Sings Its Land." The black ox, represented by the blue-and-white supporters, was the first to perform at the Bumbódromo arena.
The performance portrays the Amazon as a sacred and ancestral territory. Enchanted beings, Indigenous peoples and cultural expressions that keep the rainforest's identity alive took center stage in the arena. Through legends, elaborate floats and ritual performances, Caprichoso reinforced the importance of preserving the rainforest and honoring traditional knowledge.
Featuring monumental floats, characters from Amazonian folklore, cultural traditions and Indigenous rituals, Caprichoso further developed the narrative proposed for the 2026 festival. The arena became a stage celebrating life, the rainforest and the resilience of the peoples of the Amazon.
