PARINTINS, BRAZIL - The arena of the Bumbódromo in Parintins, located 369 kilometers (229 miles) from Manaus, turned blue during the Boi Caprichoso technical rehearsal held on Tuesday night (June 23). With fans in attendance, the event marked the final occasion on which the folk ox gathered all of its performance groups in the festival arena before the three official nights of the 59th Parintins Folklore Festival.
With the stands packed with blue-clad supporters, the rehearsal offered a preview of what audiences can expect during the festival. Caprichoso fans filled the venue, singing the troupe’s traditional songs and actively participating in every moment of the performance, boosting the show's energy and heightening anticipation for the competition.
The rehearsal brought together all segments of the Caprichoso organization and allowed for final adjustments in staging, movement and synchronization among the official performers, artistic groups, the Marujada de Guerra percussion ensemble and other participants who will take the stage during the competitive presentations.
Another highlight was the use of a scenic ramp designed for the performances of individual items, a feature that expanded movement possibilities and enhanced the visual impact of the presentations.
The 2026 Parintins Folklore Festival will take place from Friday through Sunday (June 26–28). Tupinambarana Island, where the event is held, welcomes thousands of visitors every year.
