More than 7,000 hatchlings of turtles from the Amazon, a species popularly called tracajá, were released in the largest region of lakes in Amapá, in the municipality of Pracuúba, 256 kilometers from Macapá.

The release was authorized by the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources, Ibama, on June 10, 2023.
