Acre recorded an increase in probable cases of dengue, zika and chikungunya this year compared to January to May 2023. This is what the epidemiological bulletin on arboviruses, released last Tuesday (28) by the State Department of Health, points out. - Sesacre.
The main growth was in occurrences of chikungunya, which increased by 490.3%.
The study refers to weeks 1 to 24 of 2023, compared to the same period this year.
Regarding dengue, 3,580 probable cases of the disease were reported between January and May 28 this year.
In the same period last year, this number was lower, there were 2,973 cases, which represents an increase of 20.4%.
The dengue incidence rate was 431.3 for every 100 thousand inhabitants of Acre.
Regarding chikungunya data, the bulletin states that in Acre, this year, 183 probable cases and 141 confirmed cases were registered.
In 2023, there were only 31 probable cases.
The increase recorded is 490.3%.
As a result, the incidence rate of the disease was 22.0 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the state.
Regarding Zika data, there were 123 probable cases until May this year, corresponding to an incidence rate of 14.8 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
In relation to 2023, there were 86 notifications.
The number of cases this year compared to the previous year is 43% higher.
In 2024 alone, 45 cases of Zika were confirmed.
