A large fire destroyed an area of ​​forest in Novo Airão, in the interior of Amazonas, in the early evening of Thursday (20).
The flames reached an occupied area known as the Alemão community.
The site was a private area that, after being invaded, was subdivided and sold.
Now, a space next to the subdivision has also started to be occupied by improvised buildings.
According to the Municipal Environment Secretariat, the suspicion is that the accident was criminal.
After a few hours of work, the flames were controlled and the team is now monitoring the site.
