A team composed of inspection agents from the Department of the Environment and biologists will investigate the causes of the appearance of dead fish in Lake Aramanaí, which occurred on the morning of Tuesday (12).
The statement was made by the City of Santarém, the city where the lake is located.
According to residents of the community, thousands of dead fish float on the shores of the lake.
Last year, 33 thousand fishermen were left without work because rivers and a lake dried up in western Pará, according to the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA).
Fishing areas such as lakes and river branches dried up so quickly that there was no time for the fish to take refuge.
