Last year, Brazilian farmed fish production reached 860,355 tonnes, according to an exclusive survey carried out by the Brazilian Fish Farming Association (Peixe BR). This figure represents an increase of 2.3% over the 841,005 tonnes produced in 2021. Most of the breeding of native species is in the North Region (53.7%), which produced 143,500 tonnes in 2022. In comparison with the previous year, performance was practically stable, with a reduction of 0.2%. Among the states, Rondônia is the leader in native fish production, with 57,200 tonnes.
