PARINTINS, BRAZIL - Boi-Bumbá Garantido closed the second night of the 59th Parintins Festival by bringing to the Bumbódromo arena a celebration of life, resilience and the region's cultural diversity. The red-and-white association presented "Parintins, Gateway to Diversity," a performance celebrating the encounters among the Amazon's many peoples, cultures and traditional knowledge systems.
The production guides the audience through an artistic manifesto portraying the rainforest as a vast gateway to ancestral connection, weaving together histories, rituals, legends and myths under the theme of unity among all peoples.
The night's narrative explores Amazonian identity through its relationship with nature and spiritual protection. Throughout the performance, the boi honors the rainforest's traditional workers, revisits foundational Indigenous cosmologies and stages mystical battles against hostile forces, underscoring the role of Indigenous cultures in preserving life and maintaining the planet's ecological balance.
Featuring monumental floats, a strong environmental message and an ethnographic foundation, Garantido concluded its participation on the festival's second competitive night. The performance reinforced the red-and-white boi's artistic vision of celebrating the Amazon as an ecological sanctuary and sacred land of human diversity, traditional knowledge and spiritual connection.
