The Água Branca stream is considered to be the only clean stream in the urban area of the capital of Amazonas. When it comes to water, springs are considered the most important part, as they provide water for the streams and rivers that supply the entire city, as well as being a source of life for other organisms. In order for the springs to stay alive, it is necessary to take care of their surroundings, which are legally considered a Permanent Preservation Area (APP). The Água Branca Igarapé has its sources within the permanent reserve of the Eduardo Gomes International Airport and the Aeronautics Boa Club, located on Avenida Turismo. The watercourse passes through underground galleries, passes through a condominium and meets several small streams with springs in the forests and flows into the Cachoeira Alta do Tarumã stream. It is considered 100 per cent urban because its sources are within the city.
