The severe drought of 2022 in the municipality of Manaquiri, located in the metropolitan region of Manaus, caused the local municipality to declare a state of emergency in October last year. One of the factors was the extreme difficulties faced by producers during the drought period, which caused a shortage of inputs in some places. Families living in communities have become totally isolated, unable to navigate and with food shortages. These families depend on income exclusively acquired in agriculture and, with the drought, plantations have been damaged, considering the lack of drinking water for human consumption.
