The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, said at a press conference on Monday, 07 August, in Belém, capital of Pará-Brazil, that it is necessary to carry out joint work between the member countries of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organisation, for the protection of the forest with sustainability.
"For us it is a huge challenge, which is zero deforestation by 2030. Not allowing the Amazon to reach a point of no return and working together not only from a political point of view, but also from the point of view of financial instruments, processes that maintain the forest, biodiversity, native peoples and create a new cycle of prosperity with democracy, combating inequality and sustainability." said Marina Silva.
