One and a half tons of marijuana was seized by the Amazonas Security Forces at the Arpão 2 Base, near the municipality of Barcelos, in the interior of the state.
This is the biggest seizure of the year carried out by the base teams.
According to the general command of the Military Police, the drugs were seized inside a ferry that carried fuel to other municipalities in the interior of the state.
The drugs were found inside tubes and had to be removed by Fire Department agents.
Trained dogs were able to identify the drug, but to enter the environment where the drugs were located, they needed specialized support from those with training.
In total, four people were arrested in the operation.
The seized ferry will be used in other Military Police actions to combat crimes on rivers.
The police are now investigating the drug route and the group's actions.
