MANAUS, BRAZIL – An anaconda was found on top of a grave at Nossa Senhora Aparecida Cemetery in western Manaus on Thursday morning (Aug. 7). The apparently large snake was tightly coiled and drew the attention of workers carrying out cleaning and maintenance at the site.
In one of the videos recorded by a cemetery worker, the anaconda can be seen resting on the grave. He explains that workers must remain alert because the cemetery borders a forested area, where snakes and other wild animals can seek shelter among the graves.
The footage quickly spread across social media, reinforcing warnings for employees and visitors to exercise extra caution while moving around the cemetery. Despite the scare, no attacks or injuries were reported, and the snake was safely returned to its natural habitat.
