"An amount of 2.3 million reais is already being made available to municipalities, especially those that are in emergency shelter situations, for families that have had to leave their homes, and will be deposited this week," said Regis Spindola, Director of the Special Social Protection Department at the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance. "Funds of around 500,000 reais have also been authorised for use in this emergency shelter," said Spindola.
