The Parintins Folklore Festival is not just an event that tells stories and legends for the world to see.
But, it also brings traditions, love and passion, as a Garantido fan says.
"My love for the most beautiful Boi-Bumbá in Parintins, which has this heart on its forehead and is all white, started since I was a child" said artisan Valdineia Evangelista.
"My parents were fans of Boi Garantido at a time when the city was lit by lamps and candles where bumbá was taken to the streets by founder Lindolfo Monteverde", commented Valdineia.
"I grew up playing with my parents and this love for Garantido has grown more and more", said the artisan
"Guarantido is my passion, as well as that of my family", said Valdineia.
Boi-Bumbá Garantido is the biggest winner of the Parintins Folklore Festival since its creation in 1966.
The red and white ox from Baixa do São José won 32 titles.
