Two wild animals were seen “walking” last weekend in urban areas of Porto Velho.
The recordings were made in different locations in the city's North Zone.
The first sighting took place in the São Sebastião I neighborhood, when residents received an unexpected visit from a porcupine.
In the images taken by a local resident, it is possible to see the moment when the animal tries to enter a church.
After two days, the animal was rescued by the Fire Department.
In the second video, another wild animal decided to walk through the city.
This time, it was an armadillo that was seen in a place known as Espaço Alternativo de Porto Velho.
The animal returned to a forested area
Biologist Marcela Alvares reported that the search for food, the reduction of green areas and climate change are reasons that contribute to the presence of these animals in urban areas.
