PALMAS, BRAZIL — An anaconda measuring approximately 2.5 meters in length was captured after being spotted outside a health unit in the municipality of Augustinópolis, in northern Tocantins state. The incident was recorded on Wednesday afternoon (8).
A video shows the animal slithering near the facility’s entrance. Footage recorded through a glass window captures the moment the snake approaches the structure, while people comment on its size and call for rescue assistance.
According to the facility’s management, the animal did not enter the building, and there was no risk to patients, visitors or healthcare workers. The capture was carried out with the support of civilian firefighters, assisted by a security guard on duty at the unit who has experience handling such incidents.
The presence of wildlife in urban areas may occur more frequently during the rainy season, when species such as anacondas move in search of food or shelter.
