PORTO VELHO, BRAZIL - A family was surprised while traveling to a riverside resort in Porto Velho, the capital of Rondônia state, Brazil. A Jibóia (Boa constrictor) appeared on the road and drew attention due to its size.
They had never seen a boa constrictor so closely before and decided to record the scene and observe the animal. The family takes every opportunity to watch wildlife in its natural habitat.
The boa constrictor belongs to the Boidae family, a group of non-venomous snakes found in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia and on some Pacific Ocean islands. These snakes can exceed four meters in length and, in rare cases, reach up to six meters. Females are usually larger than males.
