Approximately 1.5 tons of skunk-type marijuana was seized this Friday morning (19), near the municipality of Novo Airão, in the interior of Amazonas.
The drug was hidden in a dense forest area.
According to the police, the seizure occurred following a complaint about the activities of a criminal group in the Rio Unini region.
An improvised camp was also found at the site.
The material was stored in tablet form and distributed in 32 fiber bags.
No one was arrested.
Police believe that this drug came from the region called La Pedrera, in Colombia.
Traffickers try to take the drug to Manaus and, from the capital of Amazonas, distribute it to different parts of the world.
