The seed of the Brazil nut tree is found in the Amazon rainforest in northern Brazil. The oilseed is rich in nutrients and is well known for its numerous health benefits, as well as being the basis for dishes and recipes in the region's cuisine. Also known as the chestnut of Brazil, it benefits the eyes, the production of hormones, maintains good thyroid function, reduces triglyceride levels and prevents diseases such as Alzheimer's and cancer through the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants it produces.
