PARÁ, BRAZIL — The Brazilian Federal Police carried out an operation on Sept. 3 and 4 to combat the illicit cultivation of marijuana in the municipality of Concórdia do Pará. The operation resulted in the arrest of one person in the act and the eradication of two Cannabis sativa plantations.

Based on the investigation, two illegal cultivation sites were identified in the rural area of the municipality. During the operation, about 2,900 marijuana plants were eradicated, and the structures used to maintain the crops and process the drug were rendered unusable.

The suspect was taken to the local police station for legal proceedings.
