Amazonas Public Security has released the results of "Operation Ultimatum" against organised crime on the Solimões River, in the interior of the state. On that occasion, there was a confrontation between agents and drug traffickers near the town of Beruri (73 kilometres from Manaus). The individuals' speedboat was neutralised, and when they realised they were losing the confrontation, they fell into the water and fled. Searches continued at the site, but the criminals were not located. During a search of the vessel, several fibre sacks containing 1.5 tonnes of cocaine and 240 kilos of marijuana were found, as well as seven 556 calibre rifles, several rounds of ammunition, ballistic waistcoats and mobile phones. All the material was presented to the press in the Amazonian capital.
