"There is no quality connectivity without quality electrical energy," said the national secretary for energy transition at the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy, Thiago Barral, during Amazon On, an event that discussed connectivity and sustainability actions in the Amazon.
Barral informed participants and the public present at Amazon On that the ministry is carrying out planning and adaptation actions for the electrical system to this increasingly challenging context.
According to the secretary, there are more than 150 isolated systems in the Amazon region.
Also according to Thiago Barral, the Energias da Amazônia program has sought to bring renewable current with storage to improve the quality of service and reduce dependence on diesel generation.
"The Amazon Energy program seeks to serve those locations that have energy, but still with some level of precariousness and a lot of dependence on diesel, diesel generation, to bring greater quality and greater efficiency, combining these existing systems with new technologies and thus transforming these systems for the better", commented Thiago Barral, national secretary of energy transition - Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil.
