The 2024 Parintins Folklore Festival is approaching and an illustrious figure from Boi-Bumbá Caprichoso, retired Ana Maria, talks about when her passion for the black bull from Tupinambarana Island began.
“My love for Caprichoso started when I was 9 years old,” said Ana Maria.
"At the time, my parents used to visit their brothers who lived near Curral do Caprichoso and I went there to watch the rehearsals", said the retiree.
"From then until today, I've been a Marujeira (rhythmist)", said Ana.
"I'm Caprichoso until I die, I'm blue and white through and through," said Ana.
"God willing, we will win the Festival's third championship", commented retired Ana Maria.
The Parintins Folklore Festival began in June 1965.
And Boi-Bumbá Caprichoso has already won 25 titles.
