This year's anniversary celebration had the theme 'Sacaca Museum: I'm part of this story' and included an exhibition, fun, scientific and cultural activities. The Sacaca Museum attracts many visitors every day. As well as being in direct contact with nature, you can learn about the traditions and life of the riverside dwellers. In some areas, people from the community were engaged in activities such as producing flour, cutting chestnuts and mashing açaí for visitors to see. The museum is named in honour of Raimundo dos Santos Souza, Mr "Sacaca", a master of Amapa's popular culture. Sacaca was known for his natural medicines, and as well as being an Amazonian storyteller, he was also an icon of the Amapá carnival.
