Smoke from fires once again blanketed the city of Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, between Wednesday night and Thursday morning (28). The air quality is terrible, especially in the South and Centre-South West zones. Reduced rainfall and low air humidity have contributed to aggravating the situation. Since August of this year, the pollution caused by fires in cities in the Metropolitan Region has invaded the urban area of the capital.
