AMAZONAS, BRAZIL — Ciranda Tradicional was crowned the overall champion of the 28th Cirandas Festival in Manacapuru. The group, which also won last year, claimed its second consecutive title at the festival.

In 2026, the group presented the theme “Terricide: When the Earth Faces Genocide” in the arena. Ciranda Tradicional closed the nights of performances with a narrative focused on the defense of the Amazon, the resistance of traditional peoples and the need to preserve the rainforest.

The group also won the festival’s Best Fans title. The competition among supporters, followers and fans aims to encourage public participation and attract more people to the event.

Ciranda Guerreiros Mura finished in second place, while Ciranda Flor Matizada came in third.

The Cirandas Festival is held every year in the city of Manacapuru, in Amazonas state. The event brings together thousands of tourists and residents of the metropolitan region during the performances.
