MANAUS, BRAZIL - Caprichoso supporters experienced a magical moment on Saturday night (June 20). The folkloric association held its traditional “Boi de Rua” (Street Bull Parade), a celebration that precedes the 59th Parintins Folklore Festival.
The streets of Tupinambarana Island, where the festival takes place, were filled with spectators dressed in blue and white, the colors that represent Caprichoso. The gathering helps strengthen the bond between the iconic folk bull and its supporters.
The program featured a sound truck parade and the official festival characters of the bumbá. People of all ages took part in a tradition that spans generations and forms an integral part of Caprichoso’s history through both classic and contemporary songs, as well as dance performances.
“The Boi de Rua gave rise to our festival. It began as a playful tradition, and we always revive it to remember the history of the bull, which, 100 years ago, roamed the streets of Parintins illuminated by oil lamps,” said Rossy Amoedo, president of the Caprichoso Folkloric Association.
The 59th Parintins Folklore Festival will be held on June 26, 27 and 28, 2026, featuring the traditional competition between the Garantido and Caprichoso folk bull teams.
