Ruben Dário da Silva Villar, known as "Colombia", the mastermind behind the murders of British journalist Dom Phillips and indigenist Bruno Pereira in Amazonas, was transferred yesterday (25) from Manaus to a federal prison. The operation was led by the Federal Police, which had already informed them of the transfer request due to the risk of escape and the risk to the physical and mental integrity of those being investigated. According to the PF, the double murder and the concealment of the bodies took place in June 2022, in the Vale do Javari region, in the state of Amazonas. After days of searching, the remains of Bruno and Phillips were found buried in an area of forest that was difficult to access. The investigations concluded that the victims had been shot dead and their bodies dismembered, burnt and buried. According to an expert report by the Federal Police, Bruno was shot in the chest and head. Phillips was shot once, in the chest. According to the Federal Police, "Colombia" is still under investigation for illegal fishing and drug trafficking.
