To reach indigenous communities it is necessary to face many challenges through rivers and the forest. The mission was commanded by the Brazilian Army after six years of planning due to difficulties and isolation within the limits of the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, in the extreme northwest of the state of Amazonas. Doctors from different specialties from the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in the state of São Paulo, and the Brazilian Army provided care in the communities with the help of translators. Technology from the Brazilian Digital Health entity helped with teleservices. An 18-year-old indigenous girl with a generalized infection after receiving medical care had to be removed by helicopter to a hospital unit. In six days, doctors and health agents provided 750 consultations.
