The lake, which is still dry, is one of the branches of the Solimões River. The area, which used to be dry and cracked, is gradually giving way to a green landscape. This is a sign that the drought is in its final phase. About twenty days ago, the level of some rivers began to rise, but still timidly for the period from ebb to flood. Even with the sign of improvement, according to the Civil Defence, all 62 municipalities in Amazonas are still in an emergency situation. Some 62,000 people have been affected by this year's drought.
