The canoe is a small, narrow and light boat with both ends sharpened, guided by oars and mostly made of wood. It is considered the most common means of transport used by river dwellers and indigenous people on the rivers of the Amazon. It is equivalent to a car for city dwellers. They transport people, goods and agricultural products between towns and rural communities. In everyday life, they are used for travelling to work, especially fishing.
